The master class will take place from 14 to 19 June 2026 in Szeged, Hungary, and forms part of the II International Ferenc Fricsay Conducting Competition. The "Accademia Vicino di Accumoli" is an international orchestra academy aiming to support the complex reconstruction process of the historic centre of Accumoli, destroyed by earthquake. The accademy will focus on commemorating ‘10 years since the 2016 earthquake’. Maestro Richard J. Sigmund has composed the oratorio ‘Rimembranza’ (op. 90) especially for this occasion, which will be premiered together with soloists and choirs. This year's repertoire also includes pieces by the composers Wolfgang A. Mozart, Christoph W. Gluck, Ernst Schandl and Giuseppe Lori. The programme includes theoretical and practical orchestra lessons and orchestra rehearsals, as well as specialist lectures on the reconstruction process, programmes on local culture and history, tastings and celebrations with the local population.
